After a raucous 2017 season of complaints and allegations of sex harassment at the California State Capitol, both houses of the legislature have endorsed a plan to allow independent panels to take over any investigations or assessments.
Investigators with training in issues of workplace harassment will review any misconduct claims and a separate panel of subject matter experts will be formed to make determinations and recommendations for cures to misconduct claims.
The panels were conceived by a bi-partisan legislative group that formed in January to address the harassment concerns and will investigate claims against lawmakers from other legislators, lobbyists, even the public.
A strong and formal workflow to handle claims of sex harassment was needed by the legislature and is needed by all organizations. MyCEcourse.com has an out of the box, fully compliant and HRCI certified tool to rapidly train employees and supervisors. You can get our AB1825 workplace compliance tool on demand on any device.
