SB1343 - Expansion of California Sexual Harassment Training Clears Another Hurdle

SB1343 - Expansion of California Sexual Harassment Training Clears Another Hurdle

by Cristina Mendonsa June 01, 2018

Expanding sexual harassment prevention training in California is on the horizon with SB1343. The California Senate passed the effort by Senator Holly J. Mitchell of Los Angeles on a 38-0 bi partisan vote this week.

Current law requires employers with 50 or more employees to provide sexual harassment, discrimination and prevention training. Mitchell's bill would expand that training requirement to include employers with 5 or more employees. In her arguments before the senate, Mitchell said,  “In order for this culture shift around sexual harassment prevention to be successful, workers need to feel confident in their workplace policies and procedures".

We couldn't agree more.  Yes, we are in the business of training employees but the reports we see out of EEOC everyday showing the loss of productivity, litigation and lives ruined over harassment drives us to create a product that helps companies protect their culture and employees protect their careers.

Please see our training trailer and reach out with any questions.  Its about company culture and its about time. We'll be following Sen. Mitchell's bill closely.
